I used to have these fantasies about my parents getting a divorce. They used to fight like crazy and I hated it growing up. Instead of splitting up they bought a boat. This piece is part of a new series that I just started. i'm taking my inspiration from Highlights magazines, Free To Be, You and Me and old 1970's diagrams on how to bruch your teeth. The background is made up of old maps that I got from Stalker Jeff. This piece is available for purchase at Given (details below).

ARTIST STATEMENT :::

danyol was born in 1970 in Orange County, California just a stone’s throw away from Disneyland. Growing up he nourished himself on a steady diet of pop art, cubism, and sarcasm. While using equal parts nostalgia and current events together, danyol’s pop-influenced mixed media paintings explore the liminal spaces between surface and emotion; gender role, responsibility and reality; along with other inconsistencies in our fragile social fabric.
